The Summer Soldiers program rewards consistent preparation, accountability, and service to Newport Football. Points must be earned through sustained effort — not one-time actions!
POINT CATEGORIES 1. FOOTBALL PREPARATION Rising 10th–12th Grade (Feb 23 – June 1, 2026) 14-Week Winter/Spring Workout Program - 3 workouts per week - 1 point per workout - 14 weeks × 3 workouts = 42 points (MAX) Spring Football & Team Camp - Spring practices and team camp participation - 40 points (MAX) Football Preparation Total (10th–12th): 82 points
Incoming 9th Grade (June 1st for Spring Practice) – (July 1 – August 14, 2026 Summer Workouts) 6-Week Summer Workout Program - 3 workouts per week - 6 weeks × 3 workouts = 18 points (MAX) Spring Football Participation
- Spring practices attended after clearance - 20 points (MAX) Team Camp Participation - Full camp attendance - 20 points Football Preparation Total (9th): 58 points
2. COMMUNITY SERVICE (All Grades) - 5 points per hour - Minimum: 4 hours - Maximum: 10 hours - 50 points (MAX) Service may include team-organized events or school-approved service hours. Players must submit proof of hours earned (X2Vol screenshots accepted).
3. CLASSROOM (10th–12th Grade ONLY) - Spring Semester GPA × 12.5 - 50 points (MAX) Incoming 9th graders do not earn GPA points.
4. BONUS POINTS Earned through workout milestones, combine improvements, leadership, and coach’s discretion. - 10 points (MAX)
